`Just Dance

`Just Dance is an intermediate through advanced role playing site that takes place in New York. The city has a prominent dance school by the name of Clarksbury that every dancer hopes to attend to sky rocket their career. The scouts come to all of their concerts looking for the ones who can make it into the big time Broadway shows, and even in film and television.

Fall Annual Dance Performance

It's that time of year again, and the entire school is buzzing for the upcoming performance. The concert will be held in a different theater uptown, and there are limited times to prectice on the stage because of this. So, staging and spacing are done in increments of 4 throught the day, and soon they will be brought out into the bright lights to perform. Who will survive, and who will crack under the pressure?

Ran into a little snag with the COTM slots because there aren't any female characters signed up besides Admin, so the slots will be left open for September and voting will begin later in the month for the October characters.

August 29, 2008:
Grand Opening of the site! Although the site still needs some very minor graphics (like Affiliate buttons) we are still fully functional for role playing purposes. We are currently accepting applications from this date forward. Hooray!

SHANE ELIZABETH CALLAHAN

ALL THOSE BASICS
Full Name: Shane Elizabeth Callahan
Nicknames: Most call her Shane, but her mother got into the habit of Eliza. She hates it.
Reason for name: Originally expected to be a boy, her mother couldn't think of a female's first name...and the name Shane stuck. Elizabeth is her great-grandmother's first name.

Age: Twenty-One
Gender: Female
Grade: Third Year
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Birthday: November 14, 1986

THE HOT, HOT LOOKS
Celebrity: Maggie Grace
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 128lbs

Hair Color: Blonde
Eye Color: Honey

Description: Long, golden hair that curls about aimlessly around her face that seems to be as rebellious and free as Shane herself. Paired with the golden color of her skin, you'd think she was completely harmless. Mistake, on your part. Her eyes are the color brown, a shade that reminds you of summer days and delicious desserts. Though, they have a darkness about them that seems to scream hurt and mystery.

Sleek and toned; her body almost begs to be touched and adored. Taking a great love in the way she looks, she works out to form the perfect lean image she works hard for. Dancing definitely played a role in shaping her body as well. She keeps her body in shape so she doesn't have any weaknesses while performing, which comes in very handy in times of need.

She looks a lot older than her age, which she uses to her advantage. Paired with her steamy personality and the way she is completely comfortable in her own body are nearly unstoppable. Watch out, boys... Shane has entered your lives and she's dead set on leaving a scar.

Goals: Becoming a professional dancer on Broadway
Quirks: Sings along with her Aretha Franklin CD before a big performance. R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
Fears: Getting an injury due to dance, or one that keeps her from continuing with her dream
Dance of Choice: Ballet & Hip-Hop; strong in both

Personality: Normally sweet when you first meet her, the real Shane spouts though in her body language and facial expressions. She's smothered in seduction and sex appeal, often read as being cocky and egotistical. Which, she is neither. There is a difference in loving yourself and having an inflated ego. Although, those with egos are terribly entertaining to her.

She is one to speak her mind whether it's needed or not. Blatantly honest about most things, she wouldn't recommend asking her a question about a tender subject because she'll give it to you straight. Sugar coating is for suckers, and Shane Callahan is no sucker.

Shane is a girl who is ready for anything, and able to take life by the horns. Being in the dancers' world, you have to have an outgoing personality and be able to be ready for anything. She was almost raised to be in the dance business, and this shows when you speak to her. She knows her stuff, and there's no getting past her with anything.

She's a no nonsense type of gal, and when she means business her father's temper takes over. It isn't a usual occurrence, but when you make Shane angry...she's angry. Her horns are hidden up until you piss her off, and that is like seeing meteor shower twice in the same week. It just doesn't occur naturally in nature. Sure, her overall attitude is littered with animosity, but there are times when her wrath is lethal.

Shane tends to be over curious with most things, which gets her into some tight situations. Her curious nature stems from her adventurous childhood, always into something or investigating how something works. Her sense of knowledge is far more extensive than you think a dancer should have, and she owes that all to her father. He would bring her to museums and other various places to expand her mind from a very early age.

When it comes to large groups, she's the one that seems to be the leader of the pack because she is so comfortable with the surroundings. Practically growing up in the back stage of a theater, she has the know how and the courage to take on any large task involving emotion, adrenaline and courage. She isn't afraid of the day to day norm, and instead embellishes in it.

THE PAST MAKES THE FUTURE
Hometown: Phoenix, Arizona
Income: Wealthy

Father: Edward "Cullen" Callahan
Mother: Lorelei Evangeline Callahan
Siblings: None

Personal History: Even from a very early age, Shane Elizabeth Callahan knew she was destined to become a dancer. Her family belonged to a studio in Phoenix, AZ (where she was born and raised) that was successful and bursting at the seams. Everyone wanted to come and learn from her mother who was a big name back when she was a young dancer. People would come from all around just to witness what this woman could do. Shane learned under her, attending every class she could before she was found out. Of course, in a room full of adults, a dancing toddler was not hard to find. Her mother's talents captivated the young girl, and thus the reason behind Shane's knowledge of simply knowing she were destined for stardom.

Tragically, when Shane was only ten her mother was taken from the family through a car accident. This was devastating to everyone, but Shane had taken it especially hard. For years after, she would keep her feelings bottled up and wouldn't speak to anyone, and her relationship with her father dwindled down to practically nothing. He was able to get a little over a paragraph's worth of conversation out of her before she would hobble up the stairs after dinner. In an attempt to make her happy, he would often buy her very fancy things (of which she graciously accepted) but nothing really helped. Slowly, Shane unplugged herself from the world, and a long amount of time passed before the passion in her eyes had returned.

Her father, now left with an empty position at a dance studio he wouldn't fill finally took advantage of a woman by the name of Rachel Leigh Cook that could teach the class almost as well as his late wife had. She had spark and a fire that burned deep within her. Shane, hearing word of this picked up her pointe shoes after years of gathering dust and began to indulge in Rachel's teachings. Soon after this, her father began to build up a relationship with his daughter again and knew what he had to do. In order to keep the light in her eyes, he needed to get her involved in dance again and his only thought was to send her to another school. There wasn't much his company could do for her now, having been bred into the lifestyle there, and it was time for her to move on.

After searching for months, they had both come to decision that Clarksbury in New York would be the best choice for her. Though, her father thought it was too far away, she had to convince him that it was for the best. She needed this and that was that. So, just after turning eighteen she packed her bags and few across the continent to New York where she would attend school. Now, she has been a student for over three years, and her technique has grown even more evident. Even entering into Hip Hop after a background of strict ballet she was talented in. A true dancer, through and through.

THE AMAZING TALENT

Quote:
A cold December night; lively and chaotic, the air had been filled with a luminous glow. Everyone was getting ready for the holidays; shopping and talking. Stores were selling off the shelves with popular toys and decorations with jolly old Saint Nicolas' portrait painted in such detail you'd swear it were real. Front yards were covered in artificial snow, as well as plastic life-size reindeer tied to an authentic looking sleigh; packed tight with cardboard boxes wrapped to look as though wondrous gifts were contained in every one. Children sending handmade cards to Santa, wishing and praying for a reply back from the North Pole. Every street corner you came across either had a caroler or a bell ringer spreading the holiday cheer.

Regardless of the crowd of people transfixed on all of this; a pair of people somehow seemed out of place. A couple, if you would. The two were walking down the street; hand in hand, watching all the commotion take effect. "I don't know why everyone gets so damn worked up about Christmas..." a male voice exasperated, taking a puff from a lit cigarette he held in his hand. The girl rolled her eyes, taking it from him. She said, "It's a great holiday, full of cheer...and this is bad for you." before stomping it out on the concrete with her designer boots. "I don't get it. I'd rather get the gifts without going through all this time and money wasted celebrating a fictional character. A bedtime story, and I wanted that..." he said, staring at the pancaked cigarette. His gaze wandered from the smothered tobacco to her boot, which was a pale pink in color. "Those are hideous!" he yelped, expressing his opinion aloud. "You wear those in public?!" he asked, his eyes wide. "Oh, Parker...they're adorable, and a gift from my aunt." she responded, sticking her tongue out in protest. The boy looked at her, his eyebrow raised in confusion. "Dezi, I hare to break it to you but they're still ugly." he said, kissing her forehead and tightening his grip on her fragile hand.

Just then, a bike rider in an obvious hurry rode through the large puddle developing in the gutter. When he approached the couple, Parker's instincts caught what was occurring too late, and the two were now soaking wet. Her boots were now drenched in muddy water, along with the rest of her, and most of Parker as well. Dezi stood in awe; silent tears streaming down her fair cheeks. "I--I tried to save you..." Parker stuttered, feeling her obvious pain over the whole incident. She nodded absently; staring down the street, watching as the rider disappeared. Out of sight, but definitely not out of mind. "Oh...my GOD!" she said finally, looking back to Parker's pale blue eyes. Her own hazel eyes were wide and helpless. Parker; not knowing what to do for her, offered a common fixer-upper for most of Dezi's dilemmas. "How about some coffee, babe?" he asked, biting his lip in anticipation. Her face contorted to an odd expression, and he honestly didn't know which way this situation would go. She then relaxed; face and all, a small smile spreading slowly over her exhausted features. She nodded weakly; giving him a small peck on the lips, took his hand and pulled him back up on the sidewalk. "You always know how to make a girl smile..." she said, wrapping her arms around his arm, resting her head on his shoulder. "Only with you, Dez...since you're so damn predictable..." he said playfully, squeezing her hand and kissing the top of her head gingerly. The two wandered in the direction of the coffee shop, looking in store windows and listening to sing alongs as they walked. After visiting the coffee shop, the pair came across a small park; the two silently agreeing to stop and take in the evening breeze sitting together on a park bench.

Wooden benches littered the park, and they chose one near the fountain at the back of the park. Parker sat first after disposing of his cup, and Dezi sat close to him. "It's a little cold..." she shivered, pushing herself into him to try and create some body heat between the two. He put his arms around her, trying to warm her up the best he could. He was only wearing a thin zip-up himself, so he whatever he could do for her wasn't much. Dezi cradled her cup in her hands, trying to consume the heat from it's contents. He kissed her gently, running a hand through her hair. Startled at first; she closed her eyes slowly, gripping her cup in one hand and wrapping the other around his neck. The two kissed for what seemed like an eternity; and soon her cup was sitting on the bench behind her, both hands exploring the boy's body. Parker took this as a green light; running a hand down her back and under her shirt, touching her bare back with his fingertips. She moaned softly, treating him to a more passionate kiss.

An owl hooted somewhere in the distance, but it might as well have kept quiet because the two were oblivious to the outside world. His hands migrated to the front of her body, and she froze. "What are you doing, Parker Branston?!" she squealed; pulling away from him, causing the coffee behind her to spill over the grass under the bench. "I thought...you were..." he started, but knew it was too late to sweet talk his way out of this one. She was pissed, and nothing but a week of hell was to come of it. Her eyes narrowed at him. The air dark, but the feeling the same. "Walk me home...now." she said, crossing her arms over her chest. "No." he said simply, rising to his feet and standing in front of her. "What do you mean, no?" she asked, her mouth agape in awe. "I said, no. I don't know what you're getting all worked up about..." he said, getting frustrated. He pulled a cigarette out of his jacket pocket, as well as a lighter. He ignited the lighter, and caught her expression in the flicker of the flame. A mixture of fear and anger. Nope, definitely not good. "Go to hell, Parker..." she said, her voice thick with hate. She stomped away, leaving him behind with the sent of her perfume and a party in his pants. He simply laughed. A short, sarcastic laugh. The lighter was finally brought to the tip of the cigarette; he inhaled quickly, feeling the calm come over him instantly. "Fuck her..." he said in a tone just above a whisper. He wandered back out onto the street when he knew the coast was clear, picking up on the window shopping he'd been doing before the big blow up. He couldn't help but think of one of his favorite songs then, and he quoted the line aloud. "Solution; light a match, add fuel, and burn!" The irony was nearly uncoincidental for him to believe. He was left there, only his own sung words to keep him company on the crowded city street; in the middle of cold December.
